Posted June 30, 2008 at 10:09 pmRookie Greg Smith threw a four-hitter, Eric Chavez hit a two-run single, and the A’s beat the Los Angeles Angels 6-1 Monday night to pull within 3 1/2 games of them in the A.L. West.
The A’s Kurt Suzuki and Ryan Sweeney (15) exchange high-fives after scoring on Eric Chavez’s single in the seventh.

The A’s are now up 5-1 in the top of the eighth. Daric Barton, Greg Smith, Ryan Sweeney and Eric Chavez are huge. Totally.
